Summer in So Cal Destination Shoot

Summer is winding down quickly and a colorful So Cal destination shoot was exactly what we all needed. I met up with Hannah, Sarah, Jarrett, Alayna, Kristine, and Allura at the Santa Monica Pier for this bright, playful, sunny photo shoot. Bringing along their long boards, shades, and graphic t-shirts, the photo-shoot gave off a fun, retro feel. We got some dynamic group shots, a shot of each of the models on the pier, and below the pier, on the beach. 

The groups shots were so much fun and super creative. They all looked great together. Each model's look encompassed their own style, but the models still managed to look cohesive and put-together. Throughout the shoot, the models brought their A-game and played of each other's energy. They were all so good at grabbing the attention of the camera, but also managed to grab the attention of other by standers and tourists on the busy beach. It was a huge challenge to get shots in between crowds of people. Remaining patient and being prepared to take quick shots was key in pulling of this shoot. 

Hannah's retro summer look had a very beach vibe to it. Her light blue shirt, long hair, and ripped jean shorts, made her look right out of a beach magazine. The way the sun hit her in the photos perfectly highlighted her look. She looked beautiful and at home during this So Cal photo-shoot.

I could not get enough of this shoot and Sarah's look added just the right amount of pop to the group. Her denim skirt, assented reds apparel, props, and cute styling made her look flirty and playful. This sassy girl had so much fun and her fiery personality added dynamic to the photo-shoot. 

Jarrett was the only male model during our destination shoot but definitely was not over powered by the girls. He kept strong poses, and looked calm and cool on the Santa Monica pier. His style matched the beach perfectly. It was such a cool, and unique shot to get the wave of the Santa Monica beach reflected in his sunglasses, matching exactly to the waves on his shirt. This photo looked like a Hollister advertisement. 

Alayna's style was super chic and spunky. I loved the layers she added to her outfit. The plaid, button-up tied around her waist added an interesting draping element to her look, making her appear cool and put-together. Her attitude definitely showed through her photos. We were so lucky to find a colorful, color-blocked background to match her fun Polaroid t-shirt. 

Kristine was so smart to pair her Vans t-shirt with her Vans shoes. Someone actually asked if we were shooting a Vans commercial! The added high-top socks made her look sporty and retro, especially when paired with the long-boards. Her smile and the water shining behind her, under the Santa Monica pier,  captured the essence of summer beautifully. 

Allura's look definitely paired nicely with Hannah's. This girl looked super beach ready with an edgy skater girl twist. Her glasses and 90's choker necklace were a nice touch to the retro feel to this summer, So Cal photo shoot. Allura's array of accessories added depth and personality to her look. She looked relaxed and composed. 

All in all, this shoot was killer, fun and an explosion of color. The models were in the zone and a huge inspiration for this photo- shoot. The amazing backdrops of the So Cal, Santa Monica pier were phenomenal. The colors were exactly what we wanted they were seriously poppin!
